Tehran, IRNA – President of the Islamic Republic Ebrahim Raisi has said that Iran is a country with great potential and has a sensitive geopolitical situation.

In an interview with Russian network Russia Today cited by the IRNA on Saturday, the Iranian president noted that Iran possesses numerous capabilities within itself, and that it is considered a hub for energy and various sorts of connections.

The Islamic country can connect the east and the west as well as the north and the south, Raisi said, adding that this is a country with facilities and capacities; however, it has most notably a faithful population with the capability of making decisions, and the people succeeded in attaining a global rank in terms of resistance and steadfastness.

According to the Iranian chief executive, in the new global order that is emerging throughout the world, Iran is considered one of the chief players and it possesses a key position, and the resistance movement in the West Asia region has its roots in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

If the potential in Iran and the capabilities in BRICS group come together, they would be able to form a powerful force, he argued.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Raisi underscored that in the war between Ukraine and Russia, Iran believes the conflict should come to an end as soon as possible, and that Iran tries to play the role of a peace broker between Russia and Ukraine.

He argued that Kiev is heavily equipped with the United States and Europe; so, the support naturally encourages the Ukrainians to continue the confrontation. The president asked who – the Ukrainians or the Europeans – benefit from the prolongation of the war.

However, he said, certain Western states accuse Iran because of nowadays’ conditions of the Islamic country, but Tehran tries to clarify its stance and respond to such accusations in different occasions.
