Kerman, IRNA – A key operative of the Daesh terrorist group in Iran’s Kerman province has been identified and arrested by the country’s security forces.

The public relations office of the IRGC’s Tharallah Headquarters in southeastern Kerman province announced in a statement on Monday that the Daesh element had been arrested in one of the northern cities of the province in an operation by the IRGC’s Intelligence Organization.

The terrorist was waiting to be assigned a mission to carry out acts of terror in Iran but was captured by the security forces, the statement read.

It added that the intelligence services of hostile countries planned to create a wave of insecurity inside the country by using the capacity of Takfiri elements in case they failed to spark chaos and riots, but their plot was neutralized through the vigilance and timely action of the security forces.
