Tehran, IRNA - Iran and China have held their eighth joint consular commission meeting following a six-year hiatus in Beijing.

The meeting was co-chaired by Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and his Chinese counterpart in the Chinese capital Beijing on Friday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed important consular issues, including issues related to facilitating the issuance of visas for businessmen, university students and tourists.

The two sides also discussed implementing bilateral judicial agreements on the convicts' transfer and criminals' extradition, and expanding judicial cooperation.

Banking cooperation and increasing interaction and academic exchange were also discussed in the meeting.

They also talked about improving cooperation between the two countries' police, as well as promoting scientific and academic exchanges.
