In an article titled “The Fight Against Imperialism and the End of Western Dominance,” which was published by IRNA in Persian on Tuesday, Dedov pointed out that the diminishing confidence of people in Asia, Africa, and Latin America toward the West has created “unique circumstances” that would set the stage for the demise of global imperialism.
The Russian ambassador, however, cautioned that even after nations gain independence from colonial rules, the hegemonic powers will continue to exploit them through various manipulative tools.
These tactics include financial and economic pressures, as well as the imposition of detrimental social norms under the pretext of advocating for social justice, he said.
Furthermore, Dedov emphasized that the hegemonic powers often install puppet governments in the newly liberated countries to legitimize their aggressive agendas.
Offering insights into the historical backdrop, he argued that global development has relied on a combination of both overt and covert imperialism, including neo-colonialism, perpetuated by Western nations to sustain their economic, military, and overall dominance.
However, unique circumstances have arisen in the world today, presenting an opportunity to bring an end to global imperialism, Dedov said, adding that trust in the West is dwindling as more countries worldwide reject Western demands not aligning with their core national interests.
Furthermore, the ambassador pointed out that the United States and Europe are grappling with internal divisions and economic challenges, further weakening their global influence.
