Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has extended a message of congratulations to his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of Tajikistan’s Independence Day, which falls on September 9th.

In his message, President Raisi also congratulated the Tajik people on this important day.

President Raisi highlighted the cultural and historical commonalities between Iran and Tajikistan, their shared language, and the exchange of high-ranking delegations as key factors in the continuation of bilateral relations.

He expressed hope that Tehran and Dushanbe would grow their ties through joint efforts in order to serve national interests and develop international and regional security.

Tajikistan gained its formal independence in 1991 following the disintegration of the Soviet Union, and its people celebrate this day every September.
