During the meeting, Tajikistan's top diplomat extended his congratulations and best wishes for Haghighian's success in his new post, expressing confidence in his ability to further advance bilateral relations.
Haghighian arrived in Dushanbe last week to begin his new mission in Tajikistan.
He has previously served as Iran's ambassador to Armenia and Pakistan. He succeeds Mohammad Taghi Saberi as Iran's ambassador to Tajikistan.
