Eslam-Panah, the head of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran, said on Sunday that the foreign-manufactured vehicles would be cleared after they acquire the necessary national standards.
The clearance of those cars will free up space at the Shahid Bahonar customs office and will help regulate the car market in the country.
The Iranian administration has in recent months taken measures to facilitate imports in order to reduce car prices in the country. It has also directed auto manufacturers to ramp up their production to that end.
