Zahedan, IRNA – Iranian border guards have confiscated over 500 ancient objects from an Afghan woman in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Sistan and Baluchestan said the border guards managed to arrest the Afghan woman at the Milak border crossing, while she was trying to enter the country illegally.

They seized some 547 antique pieces from her and handed them over to judicial authorities, Alireza Jalalzaei said, adding that the objects belong to the Qajar and the Ottoman Empire periods.

The confiscated antiques included 208 pieces similar to rings, two pieces similar to watches, 82 pieces similar to jewelry, 12 pieces similar to bracelets, 133 pieces shaped like coins, and 110 pieces of unknown colored objects, he added.
