During the meeting on Monday night, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad condemned the Sunday's terrorist attack in Pakistan's Bajaur.
They said that these terrorist acts are a warning and all sides should take it serious.
Amirabdollahian considered the follow-up of the agreements reached between the presidents of the two countries during the recent visit of President Ebrahim Raisi to Damascus as one of the priorities of the two countries, and added, "Over past weeks, we have seen progress in the implementation of these agreements in the economic, commercial and technological fields between the two countries."
The top Iranian diplomat pointed to the strengthening of cooperation between the the two countries' private and commercial sectors, the increase of air flights between Tehran and Damascus, and the lifting of commercial tariffs with the aim of increasing the volume of trade between the two countries.
Amirabdollahian also strongly condemned the continued attacks of the Israeli regime on Syria and considered the Zionist regime as the main source of instability in the region.
He emphasized the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the right of the Syrian people to defend their independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Syrian foreign minister, for his part, said that the nation and government of Syria are pleased with the visit by the Iranian president to Syria and the further expansion of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and they welcome the active diplomacy between the two countries.
"The Syrian government stands by the Palestinian people to determine their fate and claim their rights," he added.
Mekdad also considered the presence of the US forces in northeastern Syria illegal and demanded the withdrawal of the occupying forces from the territory of Syria.
