Tehran, IRNA - Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov has hailed the “developing” relations between Bishkek and Tehran, saying that Iran’s recent accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), where Kyrgyzstan is also a member, will help improve cooperation within the influential security and trade alliance.

Japarov made the comments during a ceremony on Saturday as he accepted the credentials of Iran’s new ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Gholamhossein Yadegari, IRNA reported.

The Kyrgyz president expressed his wishes for success to Ambassador Yadegari and stated that political dialogues and bilateral cooperation in all fields of interest will be strengthened.

He also congratulated the Islamic Republic on its recent accession to the SCO, officially announced on July 4 during the organization’s 23rd summit in New Delhi, and said that Iran’s full membership will help boost cooperation between member states.

Ambassador Yadegari, for his part, expressed his appreciation for Kyrgyzstan’s support for Iran's full membership in the organization and expressed Tehran’s readiness to enhance cooperation with Bishkek.
