Doha, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahain has arrived in the Qatari capital, Doha, on the first leg of his regional tour that will also take him to Oman.

Amirabdollahian, who is visiting Doha at the invitation of his Qatari counterpart, was welcomed by the host country’s officials upon arrival in the city early on Tuesday.

The foreign minister said after arriving in Doha that Iran will continue to expand its comprehensive relations with neighbors as part of its balanced foreign policy doctrine.

Iran’s neighbors enjoy valuable political and economic potentials, he said in a post in Farsi on his Twitter account, adding that under his tour of neighboring states he will visit Oman after Qatar to follow up on previous agreements reached with those countries.

The current Iranian government that took office in August 2021 has made efforts to expand ties with neighboring states.
