--  Russia says regional free trade pact with Iran possible by yearend

A free trade zone agreement between Iran, Russia and several countries that cover the vast Eurasian region spreading from the borders of Eastern Europe to Western China is possible by the end of the year, Russia’s TASS news agency reported on Monday.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk told the state TASS agency in an interview that talks between the Eurasian Economic Union - which comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia - and Iran are in their final stages.

--  Flash floods behind Tehran recent water shortage

Iran’s Energy Ministry released a video that shows how flash floods that happened earlier this month near the capital Tehran washed down tons of rocks into the downstream of the city’s main reservoir, an incident that led to days of water shortage in the city.
The video released on Sunday showed layers of rocks piling up on the downstream of the Amir Kabir Dam, a large water reservoir located nearly 60 kilometers to the west of Tehran, and blocking its outlet in less than 20 minutes.

-- Ilam Petrochemicals Annual Output Tops 0.7mn Tonnes

CEO of Ilam Petrochemical Complex Behzad Yari  has aid that the company  producing some 700,000 metric tons (mt) of different product annually.

Yari said that the facility, which is the biggest petrochemical plant in western Iran, produces a wide range of products, including, ethylene, propylene, pyrolysis gasoline, hydrogen, and heavy polyethylene. 

-- CBI: Iran’s Oil Output Grows 10% Despite U.S. Sanctions

The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) for economic affairs Muhammad Shirijian said on Monday that the country’s oil production has grown by 10 percent since the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi took office.
Expounding on the details of economic growth in the last Persian calendar year of 1401 (ended March 20, 2023), Shirijian revealed the continued two-digit growth in oil production.

--  Drug smuggling into Iran down by 15% in 4 years

 The flow of narcotics into Iran has decreased by about 15 percent over the past four years, Eskandar Momeni, the secretary general of the Iranian anti-narcotics headquarters, has said. The impact of dismantling the financial foundations of drug traffickers has increased by about 10 times over the past three to four years, he said, adding “This has led to a decrease of 15 percent in the entry of drugs into Iran.”

“The rising trend of drug production in Afghanistan started about 20 years ago, after the occupation of Afghanistan by NATO and the United States.

--  Director of Silk Road Archaeology Center visits National Museum

The director of the Silk Road Archaeology Center has met with the authorities of Iran National Museum during his tour of the prestigious museum in downtown Tehran.

On Saturday, June 17, Jianxin Wang, the director of the Silk Road Archaeology Center at the Northwest University of China, and Hassan Fazli Nashli, the representative of Tehran University in the Silk Road Project, met with Jebrael Nokandeh, the director of the National Museum of Iran.
