Tehran, IRNA – Resistance is the best way to put an end to more than 75 years of the Zionist regime's occupation of Palestine, according to Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) of Iran Ali Akbar Ahmadian.

Ahmadian made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Monday with Head of Hamas' Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh.

He said that the participation of Resistance forces in the recent Saif Al Quds battle was an important milestone which brought about strategic achievements for the Resistance in Palestine.

The unity among Resistance groups and their support for Islamic Jihad movement in this battle disappointed the Zionist enemy, Ahmadian said.

He said the Palestinian Resistance that used to fight in the Gaza Strip to defend itself has reached a point of preparedness that it is strengthening its presence in the occupied West Bank, the official added.

Haniyeh, for his part, appreciated Iran’s exemplary role in helping forge unity among Muslim nations and resistance groups in the region.

He briefed the SNSC chief on the developments on the ground in Palestine and on the plans by resistance groups to maintain the upper hand in the face of the Zionist regime.
