Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Beijing Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh has underscored that a first round of security coordination meeting between Iran, China and Pakistan, which was held on Wednesday with a focus on measures to fight terrorism, will have a significant impact on regional stability and security.

The envoy wrote on his Twitter account on Thursday that the trilateral security meeting between Iran, China and Pakistan and the fact that China has embraced the formation of a naval alliance between Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the Persian Gulf are all factors that can contribute to the stability and security of the West Asia region.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Wednesday announcing that Tehran, Islamabad and Beijing had held a meeting to discuss joint measures to fight terrorism.

According to the ministry, the three countries had a series of deep discussions in the meeting about regional efforts to fight terrorism, adding that the parties decided to continue to hold the security coordination meetings on a regular basis.
