London, IRNA – The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors has started its June meeting with the participation of 35 member states in Vienna, Austria.

The meeting began on Monday at noon and will last until Friday. It will address various issues related to nuclear safety, implementation of safeguards agreements, and strengthening the IAEA's scientific and research activities.

The summit will consider nuclear activities in North Korea, Syria, and the trilateral security pact between the US, the UK, and Australia, which is known as AUKUS.

Nuclear propulsion in Brazil is one of the new topics added to the council's agenda.

The issue of Iran nuclear activity is one of the topics that has been routinely mentioned in the agenda of the BoG meetings in the past and the ongoing meeting is to debate the verification and inspection of Iran's nuclear activities in light of UN Security Council Resolution 2231.
