Tehran, IRNA – The intelligence agency of the Zionist regime of Israel Mossad has confirmed that a retired agent was among four people killed in Italy when a sudden storm sank a houseboat hired for a pleasure cruise last week.

Media reports published on Wednesday said that the former Mossad agent was on the houseboat, with 22 other people, while sailing in a northern Italian lake near the town of Lisanza when it capsized over the weekend.

Two Italian intelligence agents and a Russian woman — part of the two-person crew — who were on the boat also died in the incident.

The Zionist prime minister’s office issued a statement on behalf of the Mossad saying the unnamed agent’s remains had been sent back home for burial.

The Zionist Foreign Ministry had previously confirmed that a retiree from the regime’s security forces was killed but didn’t provide a name or age or give details on his professional background.

Sources have claimed that the dead agent was once a senior officer at Mossad.
