Tehran, IRNA – Iran and Afghanistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the supply of medicine, goods, and medical equipment.

The MoU was signed with the Iranian Health Ministry’s Food and Drug Administration and Afghanistan’s Food and Drug Authority in attendance.

“The two neighboring Islamic countries of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Afghanistan are committed to comprehensive cooperation in food, medicine and health products,” the MoU read.

It said that the supply of medicine and equipment is of prime importance due to its special role in treatment of some chronic diseases.

The two countries are determined to pave the way for expansion of production and supply of the pharmaceutical and medical equipment demands of both sides.
