Tehran, IRNA – Iranian and Russian companies have signed two conytacts and eight memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to expand cooperation on oil and gas projects.

The deals were signed on Wednesday after business-to-business (B2B) meetings between Iranian and Russian delegations in Tehran.

The contracts and MoUs were signed in a ceremony in the presence of Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

They covered different areas of industry, technology transfer and oil excavation, as well as customs issues, authorities said.  

One of the contracts included a roadmap for scientific and technological cooperation between the Department for Engineering, Research and Technological Affairs of the Iranian Oil Ministry with Russia’s Ministry of Energy.

Another contract was signed between Iran Customs Administration and the Federal Customs Service of Russia.

An MoU was also signed between Iran’s Research Institute of Petroleum Industry and Kazan Federal University on pilot cooperation in oil excavation activities.
