Tehran, IRNA – Iran has now more than 116 million broadband internet subscribers, which amounts to 137 percent of the country’s population, according to the latest official statistics.

In its latest report, the Communication Regulatory Authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that the number of mobile broadband subscriptions had exceeded 105 million, while the figure for fixed broadband subscriptions reached 11 million.

The quarterly figures are collectively five million higher than those published in late December 2022.

According to the report, the number of mobile phone subscriptions in Iran had increased to 148 million in the quarter to late March, an increase of 5.84% compared to the previous quarter.
