Tehran, IRNA – Brigadier General Abdolreza Abed has been appointed as the new commander of IRGC's Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters.

Abed's appointment was announced on Monday in a ceremony in attended by IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami and other officials in Tehran on Monday.

The military commander has led IRGC engineering units while having experiences as top commander of the force in Iran's western Kordestan province during the Iraqi-imposed war of the 1980s.

He replaces Seyed Hossein Housh Al Sadat as the new head of Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters (KAA).

The KAA was established in 1989 upon an order by Supreme Leader and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. It has been involved in the construction of key infrastructure projects in Iran in recent years.
