Dezful, IRNA – The 307-megawatt gas-fired unit of the Dokouhe combined cycle power plant (CCPP) has been inaugurated by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

The inauguration ceremony was held on Thursday concurrent with the president’s trip to Khuzestan province in southwest Iran.

Iran has spent some 142 million euros to construct the 307-megawatt gas unit of the CCPP in Dokouhe.

Consisting of a gas unit and a steam unit, the Dokouhe CCPP has a total production capacity of 451 megawatts. The steam unit of power plant is still under construction. The gas-fired electricity station has created 500 direct and 1,000 indirect jobs.

The power plant, which is located near the city of Andimeshk, will respond to a part of power demand in southern and central areas of Iran.
