The Iran-Pakistan-China-Russia joint statement has called on the Afghan officials to form an inclusive government and stop all measures which limit women’s and ethnic minorities’ activities.
The foreign ministers of four countries have once again stressed the importance of respecting independence, territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Afghanistan to help the neighboring state determine its way to development.
Through the joint statement, the foreign ministers expressed deep concern over the security situation of Afghanistan.
All terrorist groups, including Daesh (ISIS), are serious threat to the world and the regional security, according to the statement.
So, the four countries at the quartet meeting urged the current officials in Afghanistan to take practical measures to confront terrorism and annihilate the terrorist groups.
Further, they called on the United States and its allies to be accountable for the critical situation in Afghanistan which has been worsened after the unilateral sanctions against the country.
If borders between Afghanistan and the neighboring countries are safe, all will be benefited from it, the joint statement said.
The foreign ministers also expressed support for diplomatic efforts to facilitate finding political solution for issues in Afghanistan.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister is to hold separate talks with his participating counterparts in the fourth meeting of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
