The figures covered in a Wednesday report by the IRNA showed that India imported $134 million worth of Iranian goods and commodities in January-February, an increase of 91% compared with the same period in 2022.
The figures showed that trade between Iran and India had reached $358 million in January and February, down 13% year on year.
The fall was mainly due a decline in Indian exports to Iran which stood at $224 million in January-February, down 34% from the same period last year, showed the data.
Rice, fruits and tea were main goods exported from India to Iran over January and February, according to figures by the Indian ministry of commerce which also indicated that the country’s main imports from Iran over the same period were oil products, raw materials used in paint manufacturing and various types of fruits.
