Tehran, IRNA – A 5-magnitude earthquake hit Anbaralum city in the northern Iranian province of Golestan on Wednesday.

The quake occurred at 14:08 p.m. local time at a depth of 22 kilometers, according to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of the University of Tehran. 

There has not been reported casualties or destruction following these two tremors.

Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
