In a joint press conference with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib held at the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, Amirabdollahian said that the two sides had fruitful talks with each other in various regional fields.
Congratulating the Lebanese people on the Christian New Year, Amirabdollahian said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been and will be a friend of Lebanon’s hard days.
Referring to the latest Iran's economic plans in Lebanon on his last visit to the Arab country, he expressed satisfaction over the progress of the agreement.
Regarding the Lebanese fuel crisis, Amirabdollahian noted that the Lebanese technical delegation came to Iran to meet the country's fuel needs and the Islamic Republic is fully prepared for any help.
He voiced his country's readiness to build and rebuild power plants based on the agreement between the two sides with modern technology.
The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly supports the Islamic Resistance of Lebanon and Palestine, he said, adding that Iran considers the security of Lebanon as the security of its own and the region.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that Iran does not interfere in Lebanon's internal affairs and believes that the Lebanese political parties have sufficient and competent experience to elect a new president of Lebanon.
Referring to Iran-Saudi talks, Amirabdollahian underlined that the two sides agree on the continuation of the holding talks for normalizing the Tehran-Riyadh ties, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never been a pioneer to cut ties in the Muslim world.
Bou Habib, for his part, thanked Iran for its interest in ending Lebanon’s political crisis.
The two sides also talked about the Yemen crisis and the necessity of ending the crisis.
He added that one of the pivots of the bilateral dialogue was to examine the extremist policies of the Zionist regime, and called for the international community to take responsibility for the Zionist aggression against the al-Aqsa Mosque.
