Tehran, IRNA – A research lead of the Institute of Regional Studies in Islamabad, Syed Fraz Hussain Naqvi, said that neighboring countries should focus on cooperation and dialogue to resolve issues.

In an interview with IRNA on the sideline of The Third Tehran Dialogue Forum (TDF) evaluating the Tehran Summit, Syed Fraz Hussain Naqvi, said that we have seen so many geopolitical shifts going around the globe, particularly within the Middle East and for all of us, these shifts are important because of their regional assets as well as from geo security point of view, we have seen various dogmatic groups and various inter-state rifts going on in the Middle East that have invited the global powers like the US, Russia, China to understand these dynamics and to understand Iranian position on that and how Iran copes with these changes and to accelerate its cooperation with regional countries both on the east and the west, particularly with Pakistan, Iraq, China, and especially its neighboring countries. This conference is quite important.

In response to a question that what you think would be the best way to resolve the regional issues, Naqvi said that they say that cooperation is the only way and we are aware that the diplomacy field has already started. So, I think that diplomacy and cooperation through dialogue and negotiations are quite important.

We have seen that Saudi Arabia and Iran Talks have been going on at the regional level, and at the global level, Vienna Talks are going on, so in the end, negotiations on the table are the ultimate point, he stated.

We should meet, negotiate and resolve the issues, the expert further noted.

The 2022 Tehran Dialogue Forum (TDF) kicked off on Monday 19 December 2022, with a speech by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.

The forum’s theme is “Islamic Republic of Iran's Neighborhood Policy: Friendship & Trust Building Strategy”.
