Tehran, IRNA – The 2022 Weightlifting World Championship in the 102 kg weight category finished and Iranian weight-lifter, Reza Dehdar won the vice championships.

The tournament, organized by International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), is being held in Colombia's Bogotá from December 8 to 17.

A team of 11 weightlifters including four women represent Iran in the tournament.

Dehdar won gold in the event by lifting 177 kgs in snatch and finished fifth in the clean and jerk with a lift of 213 kgs.

By lifting a total of 390 kg, the Iranian athlete finished runner up in the 102 weight category of the competitions.

Rio Olympics gold medalist Kianoush Rostami had earlier won a silver medal in the 89 kg category.

Rostami had a tough competition with Keydomar Giovanni Vallenilla from Venezuela, Carlos Nassar from Bulgaria, Tian Tao from China and Rodaligas Carvajal Braya from Colombia in the early hours of Monday in the tournament.
