Tehran, IRNA – Lawmakers at the Iranian parliament (Majlis) have not been convinced by explanations given by the country’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, Reza Fatemi-Amin about increasing prices in the Iranian car market.

At an open session of the Majlis on Tuesday, the lawmakers rejected Fatemi-Amin’s argument about reasons behind recent car price hikes in Iran.

A ballot cast by the lawmakers showed that 110 had been convinced by the minister’s explanations, 125 were not satisfied and 10 lawmakers abstained.

The vote came just over a week after the Majlis allowed Fatemi-Amin to stay in his post as Iran's industry minister.
