Tehran, IRNA – Russian embassy in London has ruled out claims made by the UK on delivery of Iran-made weapons to Russia, describing London's policy as in line with the United States agenda.

The embassy issued a statement, dismissing accusations leveled by Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom James Cleverly.

The British side is well aware that the allegations about military cooperation are shameful and far from mind, the statement underlined.

“We categorically reject recent comments by UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, who, following in the footsteps of US representatives, accused the Russian Federation and Iran of some ‘sordid’ deals in the context of the Ukrainian crisis,” it read.

The Russian side also reminds the UK that the Western allies provide Ukraine with money and arms in the war.

“Talking about ‘sordid’ transactions, J.Cleverly ought to be reminded of, above all, the massive military-technical, financial, and propaganda assistance provided by Great Britain and its Western allies to the Kyiv regime,” it said.

According to the statement, “Western-supplied military equipment, including heavy and long-range systems, is being purposefully used for de-facto terrorist strikes against civilian targets.”

The Russian embassy censured London over what the Russians say is a double standard in dealing with the situation in Ukraine.

The statement also stressed that Moscow will keep a record of all facts and figures about interventions executed by London and other Western capitals in financially and militarily supporting Kyiv as well as hatching plots against military personnel and facilities of Russia.

Referring to the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231, the Russian Embassy declares that it seems to be rational that the authorities in Britain are expected to pay heed to non-compliance to the resolution and the United States unilateral withdrawal from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
