Tehran, IRNA – An analyst says television channels that air programs against the Iranian government are mere tools of propaganda in the hands of Iran’s enemies.

Hassan Abedini, an international relations analyst, told IRNA on Tuesday that Persian-language TV channels based outside Iran have been frequently used by Saudi Arabia, the Zionist regime, and the United States to distort realities on the ground in the country.

Abedini said those networks have tried to create a contrast between what they claim to be the perfect living situation in the West and the situation in Iran.

He said various problems in Western societies, including violence, poverty, and discrimination, goes normally unreported in anti-Iran TV channels while they constantly focus on the economic and political situation in Iran.

Stoking ethnic violence in Iran has also been a major theme of programs aired by the BBC Persian and Iran International, two TV stations that are based in the United Kingdom, said Abedini.

“Thus, we have to regard media outlets like Iran International, BBC Persian, and similar networks as political and security headquarters for tampering with the minds of people,” he said.
