Tehran, IRNA - Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that Malaysia is both an Islamic and an Asian priority for Iran, adding, Iran and Malaysia have potentially great and diverse potentials in economic, technological, cultural and international fields, which if both countries' officials would desire, can secure both nations' interests.

President Raisi in his Friday night phone talk with the Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim congratulated his being appointed as the prime minister of his country, ensuring him that there are great unused potentials in various fields, that can be used to secure both nations' interests.

He also told Prime Minister Ibrahim that Malaysia is among the Islamic Republic of Iran's Islamic and Asian priorities.

The new Malaysian prime minister, too, for his part in the phone talk said he was quite agreed with President Raisi on the point that the two countries have lots of unused potentials in diverse fields for mutual cooperation.

"We will do our best for evermore expansion of comprehensive relations between our two great Islamic nations," he added.
