Tehran, IRNA - Iran has offered condolences to Indonesia over an earthquake that has killed tens of dozens of people and injured many others.

In a message issued on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Naser Kanaani offered his sympathy to the Indonesian people and government and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the earthquake.

The magnitude 5.6 earthquake that struck areas located 75 km (45 miles) south of the Indonesian capital Jakarta has killed at least 271 people.
