Tehran, IRNA – Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Eslami on Wednesday expressed doubt that a planned visit by an IAEA delegation to Iran would be fruitful in the wake of a statement by the European members of the Iran nuclear deal.

Director General of the International Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA) Rafael Mariano Grossi had announced a few days ago that a team from the agency would visit Iran.

Eslami on Wednesday told IRNA that it is not clear whether the visit would be fruitful and have any results, in the wake of the statement pushed by the European member states of the Iran nuclear deal, namely the UK, France and Germany.

The trio, known as E3, issued a statement at the IAEA Board of Governors’ meeting on Wednesday, blaming Iran for the failure to reach a revival agreement on the nuclear deal called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
