Tehran, IRNA – Tajikistan’s culture minister says the Central Asian country is intent on expanding cultural ties with Iran as she reiterates the need for holding increased number of cultural events between the two Persian-speaking nations.

Speaking to IRNA on Monday, Zulfiya Davlatzoda said that Dushanbe plans to immediately implement a series of cultural agreements signed by senior government officials of Iran and Tajikistan in recent months.

Davlatzoda said the two countries have held seven cultural weeks in major cities of Iran and Tajikistan to boost exchanges between their artists and cultural figures.

Iran closed its fourth cultural week in Tajikistan on November 7.
