Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani who was speaking on Sunday evening on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 9th Joint Economic Commission of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Tehran's Estaqlal Hotel, highlighting the significance of the commission, said, "The enhanced Iran-Venezuela relations in the framework of our bilateral 20-year development roadmap under the leadership of the two countries' presidents has grown noticeably during the recent years."
The Iranian head of the Joint Iran-Venezuela Economic Cooperation Commission added that Iran and Venezuela, as two independent countries with shared and similar stands on many regional and international affairs, such as independence-seeking, favoring the right to decide their own fates, multilateralism, need to counter the unjustly imposed sanctions, as well as the expansion and further deepening of comprehensive bilateral cooperation, especially in the scientific, economic, industrial, agricultural, energy, and cultural fields, are in need of expansion of cooperation.
Ashtiani expressed delight to be hosting the great economic event, considering it an opportunity to expand the strategic bilateral relations, as well as the two countries' economic and commercial cooperation between their state and private sectors.
"We are ready to coordinate in expansion of comprehensive cooperation, eliminate the existing obstacles, and seek new mechanism based on deeper relations between the two countries' different sectors," he said.
