Tehran, IRNA – The 8th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Minerals Experts Group Meeting is slated for November 14 in the central Iranian city of Isfahan.

Isfahan’s department of geology is to host the event for four days.

A senior official at Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration of Iran has announced the ECO meeting will be held with participation of seven countries of Iran, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

Haniyeh Bakhshaei referred to exchange of modern views about geology and minerals as an important aim of the ECO meeting.

Exchange of such viewpoints would prepare the ground for sustainable development in ECO, she added.

Expansion of cooperation is at hand in the existing framework of the ECO, she said.

ECO has ten member countries – Iran, Türkiye, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan – which included 480 million population.
