On Sunday, Kanaani expressed sympathy with the Iraqi government and people over the explosion, which left several dead and wounded.
He also sympathized with families of the families of the dead people and wished for the injured ones’ healing.
Some news sources have reported that the blast occurred near a football field in an eastern part of the Iraqi capital on Saturday night when shrapnel hit residential buildings and the pitch.
According to some news agencies, the explosion, which happened because of an accident in the al-Banuk district, left 10 killed and more than 20 injured.
Some Iraqi sources said that a car slammed into a tanker near a football stadium and a café and that most of the victims are amateur football players.
