London, IRNA – Following invasion by an assailant armed with a knife on Iran Embassy in Copenhagen, leading to harming a local employee and damages on parked cars in embassy, Denmark Police in a statement announced that the attacker will stand in a court trial on Saturday.

Denmark Police in reaction to the violation of Iran Embassy premises in Copenhagen announced that a person aged 32 and armed with a knife has been arrested for trespassing against the Iran Embassy and attacking an employee there.

The intruder was imprisoned based on a request filed by the Denmark prosecutor general till his trial. The police communique on the matter indicates that the intruder has been accused of two criminal acts, including breaching the Danish criminal codes and making aggressive moves.

According to the police statement, after the occurrence of the incidence, required intensified security measures are made around Iran Embassy and for its employees, in collaboration with the Danish Intelligence Service, which is now engaged in investigating the dimensions of the incidence.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian had in a phone talk with Iran's ambassador on Denmark was informed about the latest status about the Friday incidence.

Ambassador Afsaneh Nadipur told the foreign minister, "After entering the embassy premises, the intruder who was armed with a cold weapon (knife) began threatening, and horror making, and then inflicted damages to the parked cars in the embassy parking lot."

She added that despite the embassy's former official warnings, the Denmark Police attended the scene of the crime with a very long delay.

Amirabdollahian in the phone talk strongly objected to the lack of the required security measures for the ambassador and her embassy in Copenhagen, reiterating, "It is sorrowful that such an intrusion against a female ambassador with diplomatic immunity takes place and the police, too, does not attend the scene of the crime on time."
