Citing the joint experience of Iran and Serbia in combating cruel and unilateral sanctions, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Issues Ali Bagheri Kani considered the sanctions a major major obstacle to the development of economic cooperation between the two countries and stressed the need for removing these obstacles and transferring experiences using appropriate solutions.
Bagheri Kani expressed hope that the Iranian foreign minister's visit to Serbia and the visit of President Serbia to Iran will be done in near future, and these visits show the will of the great leaders of the two countries to develop relations in all respects.
Deputy Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia Stevan Nikčević, for his part, said that the 16th economic joint commission would convene immediately after the establishment of the new Serbian Government .
He added that "the quality of trade ties does not suit the quality of political relations".
The both sides in the meeting stressed the necessity of starting a negotiation of the open trade agreement and taking advantage of the creative mechanisms to expand trade and commercial cooperation between the two countries.
