Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi highlighted Tajikistan-Iran friendly and brotherly ties, saying that both nations will witness new pages of collaborations.

President Raisi sent a message to his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon on Friday to felicitate his birthday, expressing hope that the deep cultural, historical, civilizational and lingual affinities will continue with the continuation of joint meetings; so, we can witness new pages of cooperation in line with securing mutual interests, and enhancing stability of the region.

In the congratulatory message, the Iranian president wished good health and success of his Tajik counterpart, as well as welfare for the people of Tajikistan.

Emomali Rahmon has turned 70 years old on October 5. Presidents from Russia, Turkey, China, Belarus, Azerbaijan Republic and some other countries from the Central Asia congratulated his birthday.

Tehran-Dushanbe ties has been growing since 1991, and many political experts believe that the developing relationship has it roots in long-standing cultural, religious and historical commonalities.

Tajikistan’s cultural week was inaugurated by Iranian and Tajik ministers in Tehran this Tuesday.

Some art groups hold programs and an exhibition is being held in the cultural week not only in Tehran but also in Shiraz and Tabriz.
