New York, IRNA – Iran began issuing national identity card for Iranians living in the United States, as President Ebrahim Raisi was in New York for the United Nations General Assembly.

Issuing ID-card for expatriates was faced with a number of issues but Iran’s Foreign Ministry began the process after President Raisi instructed the ministry.

Iran has been issuing national ID-card for citizens living in Europe. And now the service is available for Iranian presiding in the US and Canada.

Iranians in the US can request an Iranian national ID-card through Interests Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Washington.
