Tehran, IRNA – Rahman Amuzad-Khalili, the 65 kg freestyle athlete won his final match versus his American competitor to win the world gold medal in 2022 Belgrade World Wrestling Championship.

On Sunday, the 4th and last day of the World Wrestling Championship the finals of the 61, 65 and 97 kg weights began at 8:30 pm in Belgrade, the Serbian capital city.

In 65kg, Rahman Amuzad-Khalili who had two world junior gold medals, in his first match beat Jun Suk from South Korea 8-1, Ismael Musicayev, the world bronze medal winner from Hungary 6-0, and Adil Espanov from Kazakhstan 13-2.

In this stage, Khalili faced Hali Aliev from Azerbaijan who had a silver and bronze and three gold medals from Azerbaijan Republic, and beat him bravely 9-2 to reach the final.

In the final he faced John Diakomihalis from the United States, whom he mightily beat 13-8 in a very tough competition to win his world gold medal.
