Iran attends IPU meeting in Pakistan

Tehran, IRNA – The third regional meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) began in Islamabad on Tuesday, with the participation of delegations from the Asia Pacific, including Iran.

Themed “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals”, the meeting was opened this morning, hosted by National Assembly of Pakistan.

Iranian Parliament member Malek Fazeli heads Iran’s delegation in the meeting.

The two-day IPU meeting is aimed at promoting awareness on climate change and flood fallouts and highlighting the tragic situation of flood-affected civilians in Pakistan.

The Pakistani prime minister and parliament speaker and the head of the IPU will deliver speeches in the opening ceremony of the meeting.
