Tehran, IRNA – The administration of President Ebrahim Raisi has set an international record by vaccination of more than 2.5 million foreign nationals and migrants.

The Ministry of Health and Medical Education has played key role in providing valuable moves among other significant efforts made by the administration in its first year of tenure.

The Ministry has been successful in containing the number of infections and death toll of the coronavirus disease.

The Islamic Republic provided people 160 million doses of the vaccines for all ages within four phases, which helped get rid of the dark days of hundreds of fatalities and hospitalizations of thousands of patients.

The Iranian scientists have been able to produce six brands of Iran-made vaccines with the help of the administration.

Despite the fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been suffering from illegal and cruel sanctions, and the country was facing economic pressures, it succeeded in containing the virus and even vaccinated more than 2.5 million foreigners in particular Afghan refugees.

From the first phase of the pandemic, the Islamic establishment formed scientific committee, including 60 top physicians and scientists to fight the prevalence of the disease.

The Ministry of Health doubled the number of ICU beds for kids during the Omicron peak, and tried to distribute physicians and other healthcare workers throughout the country fairly.

In this year’s universities entrance exams, the Islamic Republic increased the number of acceptances of medical students to provide the nation with the better healthcare opportunities in the future.

The administration has also improved the situation of hospitals, pharmacies and other healthcare facilities and equipment in line with guidelines made by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

In rural areas, healthcare centers have been equipped and the number of health personnel have been increased in the past year.
