Tehran, IRNA – On the first day of 2022 Vietnam Asian Junior taekwondo Championship the Iranian young athletes had gained nine colorful medals.

In this round of the Asian games that began today (on Friday) in the presence of 285 taekwondo athletes from 28 countries at Hoshi Minh city’s Army Hall, in minus 45, minus 51, minus 59, minus 68, and minus 78 kilograms in the boys, and minus 42, minus 46, minus 52, minus 59 and minus 68 in the girls group, the Iranian young national taekwondo athletes gained 5 gold, two silver and two bronze medals and had a very good start.

In minus 59 kg, Amir-Hossein Malekin in the final faced Yu Chen, from Taiwan and beat him to gain Iran’s first gold medal. He had earlier won his matches versus the Nepalese, Japanese, and Indian athletes to reach the final.

In minus 68 kg, Arash Vaziri-Doost beat Renzo Balido from the Philippines, Abdul Rasul from Uzbekistan and Batri Khan from Kazakhstan to reach the final, but lost the final match to Chung from South Korea to gain the silver medal.

In minus 87 kg, Mohammad-Amin Karsaz beat Yu Fan from China to reach the semifinal, which he lost to Park from South Korea to win the bronze medal.

In girls group in minus 42 kg Sogand Shiri beat Chang from South Korea in the final, which was his second gold medal after her world gold medal in these Asian competitions. She had earlier beat Golshan Esmailov from Uzbekistan, and Hakad from India to reach the final.

Mina Nematzadeh in her 3rd consecutive final in a row gained another gold medal. She already had the solver of the Asian game and the gold medal of the world championship in her golden record. This time in the final she beat Zhang from China to win the gold medal. She had earlier beat Jisedon Chool from South Korea, Nuzi Kazanbek from Kazakhstan, and Toin from Vietnam.

In minus 59 kg, Puneh Jafar-Salehi gained a rest lot in the first match and bear Zino Chen from China and Ann Dori form Mongolia to reach the final. In the final too, in not a very tough match she beat Park from South Kores 2-0 to gain her gold medal.

In minus 68 kg, Elham Haqqi after winning the game versus Jin from China and Ming Seu from South Kirea reached the final versus Hesuyan Lee from Vietnam to win the excellent Iranian team’s last gold medal on the first day of these competitions.
