Iran produces 72% of basic medical materials locally

Tehran, IRNA – A senior medical Iranian official announced on Tuesday that the production of 72 percent of basic materials essential for medical use takes place inside the country.

Chairman of Iran’s API and Pharmaceutical Packaging Syndicate Faramarz Ekhteraei made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the Pharmex Middle East 2022 exhibition in Tehran.

The successful fight against the coronavirus pandemic since December 2019 indicated Iran’s great capabilities in medical industry, the official noted.

As he underlined, Iranian medical materials are exported to different countries, including Canada and Japan, as well as some European ones.

The 4th Pharmex Middle East exhibition started at Iran Mall, northern Tehran, on August 23 for four days.

Representatives from different countries have partaken in the event to see Iran’s achievements in medical areas.
