Tehran, IRNA – Members of the Iranian nuclear negotiating team have participated in a mourning ceremony for Imam Hussain (PBUH) at the Imam Ali Center in Vienna, Austria.

The negotiating team, who stays in Vienna to discuss the lifting of anti-Iran sanctions and reviving the 2015 nuclear deal, took part in the mourning ceremony on Sunday night at the end of fourth day of the negotiations.

Iran and the P4+1 group (Britain, France, Russia, China plus Germany) have held rounds of talks in Vienna to discuss revival of the 2015 nuclear deal and remove anti-Iran sanctions as it was designated in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The Imam Ali Center in Vienna also known as the Vienna Islamic Centre hosts a great number of Muslim devotees, who attend mourning ceremonies in Muharram to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain (PBUH) and his companions.

Imam Hussain (PBUH) and his followers were martyred in an unequal battle in Karbala, Iraq, on October 10, 680 (10th of Muharram 61 AH).

Muslims around the world mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain (PBUH), who sacrificed his life to safeguard the Islamic teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
