-- Top Iranian generals say U.S. losing power, influence

Two top Iranian generals said on Sunday the United States is losing its former political power, status and influence in the world as is evident in recent developments in the region and West Asia.
Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami and Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, a top military adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali ‎Khamenei, hinted at U.S. declining power in separate remarks at two different ceremonies while addressing IRGC commanders, directors and forces.
Major General Salami said all U.S. state-building efforts and plots in regional states are ending in failure in a domino fashion as can be seen in its escape from Afghanistan and defeats in Syria and Egypt.

-- Lorestan welcomes investment in industrial projects: Governor general

With about 25% of the country’s reserves, Lorestan secures the first place in the country’s decorative stone sector, said the governor general of the western Iranian province, adding that the ground is paved for investment in the field of processing all kinds of decorative and construction stones.
Welcoming the cooperation of domestic and foreign investors in the production and industrial projects of the province, Farhad Zivyar noted that, “We make every efforts to facilitate the foreign direct investment (FDI) in the industrial projects of the region.”

-- Tabriz Grand Bazaar: An old urban neighborhood with countless attractions

If you think that Bazaar of Tabriz, the capital city of the northwestern province of Azarbaijan, is only a big market full of carpets, handmade shoes, colorful clothes, jewelry, mirrors and candlesticks, I should say that you have an incomplete and insufficient image of the huge urban area.
Tabriz Grand Bazaar, registered on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2010, is actually one of the biggest neighborhoods of the city, with 160 timchehs (marketplace), rastehs (passageways housing shops selling the same sort of merchandise), corridors, mosques, bathhouses, caravanserais, schools, and historical houses.  It was restored with the help of the shop owners and guilds.

-- ‘Iran Ready to Meet Lebanon’s Fuel Needs’

The foreign minister’s assistant and director general of the Foreign Ministry’s West Asia and North Africa department reaffirmed Iran’s support for the Lebanese people amid the fuel crisis that has gripped the Arab country.“As one of the major producers and exporters of energy in the region, the Islamic Republic of Iran stands with the people of Lebanon to help them,” Muhammad Sadegh Fazli tweeted. “Tehran is prepared to host the Lebanese for talks about supplying the fuel needed by the people of that country. We’ll never abandon our friends in difficult days.” 

-- Qatari FM Hails Iran’s Logical Position in Talks

Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian has reiterated Iran’s resolve to clinch an agreement for the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
In a late Saturday phone call with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the two foreign ministers discussed the latest developments in their countries’ relations in various political, economic and consular sectors.

-- Iran’s Parnian Nouri Becomes World Taekwondo Champion

Taekwondoin Parnian Nouri became the world champion in the 2022 Taekwondo Cadet and Junior Championships in Bulgaria, winning a gold medal. Nouri defeated her competitors from Poland, Turkey and the U.S. to qualify for the semi-final stage where she beat her Mexican competitor too.
In the final stage, the Iranian Taekwondo athlete beat her Thai competitor in the minus 44 kg and won the gold. That brings to three the number of gold medals won by Iranian athletes in the international competitions underway in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia.

-- Energy crisis has prompted France to mediate between Iran, U.S.: MP

A senior Iranian lawmaker has said that the energy crisis that erupted in the wake of the Ukraine war has prompted France to mediate between Iran and the U.S. in the nuclear talks in the hope of using Iran’s energy resources.

“Iran welcomes any country that wants to play the role of mediator in solving the nuclear negotiations, but if France, as a member of the nuclear negotiations group, fulfills its duty, the negotiations will certainly reach a conclusion sooner,” Abbas Golrou, chairman of the parliament’s foreign relations committee, told IRNA.

-- Tazieh performances revive Ashura stories at Tehran cultural centers

Several cultural centers in Tehran are playing host to groups of thespians performing stories from the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions during the Ashura uprising in the form of tazieh, the Iranian passion play.

One of the centers is the Art Garden of the Iranian Artists Forum, where director Majid Khosroabadi and his troupe Kahrobay-e Tazieh are portraying different stories from the tragedy every evening.

“Shah Cheragh (AS) Tazieh” was staged Saturday evening.

-- Monsoon rains cause damage to historical monuments in Sistan-Baluchestan

Hundreds of historical buildings and aging structures have been damaged by heavy rainfalls and flash floods in Sistan-Baluchestan province, the provincial tourism chief has said.

The summer monsoon rains and floods have caused 32.5 billion rials ($108,000) of damage to the historical monuments of the southeastern province, Alireza Jalalzai said on Sunday.

On Tuesday, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported that an average rainfall of 26.5 millimeters was recorded in the desert city of Zahedan, the capital of Sistan-Baluchestan, equaling 30 percent of annual precipitation in the city.
