Tehran, IRNA – Female Iranian Taekwondoin Parnian Nouri became the world champion in the 2022 Taekwondo Cadet and Junior Championships in Bulgaria, winning a gold medal.

Nouri defeated her competitors from Poland, Turkey and the US to qualify for the semi-final stage where she beat her Mexican competitor too.

In the final stage, the Iranian Taekwondo athlete beat her Thai competitor in the minus 44 kg and won the gold.  

That brings to three the number of gold medals won by Iranian athletes in the international competitions underway in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia.

The two other gold medals were won by female athletes Baran Jamal Livani and Saina Alipour.

Mohammad Zare’e won a silver in the boys’ section, while Fatemeh Baqerzadeh gained a bronze in the girls’ section.

The four-day 2022 World Taekwondo Cadet and Junior Championships began on Thursday.
