New York, IRNA – The United States has said that it has not seen any indication that Iran has delivered drones to Russia despite earlier claims by Washington that Tehran was preparing to provide Moscow with the class of aircraft.

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters on Tuesday that they have seen no indication of such delivery.

“We’ve seen no indications of any sort of actual delivery and/or purchase of Iranian drones by the Russian Ministry of Defense,” Kirby said, adding that they had not noticed anything “that has been actually affected.”

Earlier, White House National Security Council Jake Sullivan claimed that Iran was preparing to send drones to Russia to be used in the war against Ukraine.

He also said that Iran was preparing to train Russians on how to operate the drones, but that it wasn’t clear at the time that Tehran had delivered the aircraft.

A senior official at the Pentagon later said that there were no signs of Iranian arms on the field in the war against Ukraine.
